Alisa Schaefer, Ph.D. is a senior analyst at Universities Canada providing strategic analysis on commercialization, innovation, entrepreneurship and international research collaborations.
Dr. Schaefer also provided strategic advice on commercialization and international research at CIHR and worked on science policy issues at the intersection of Genomics and Society at Genome Canada.
Prior to moving to Ottawa, Dr. Schaefer was Advisor for Global Outreach at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland and also served as an American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Science and Technology Policy Fellow there.
Dr. Schaefer received her degree in neuroscience from Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland where she studied the ability of stem cells to repair damaged brain.
