Associate Professor of Animal Health Economics

David Hall is a veterinarian with a PhD in agricultural economics and an Associate Professor in the Dept. of Ecosystem and Public Health, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Calgary. His current research activities address animal health economics and policy, international development, ecohealth, and decision making. He is particularly interested in perceptions of health and how they shape decision making related to mitigation of health risks. His current research grants address water public health in Alberta, decision making as it relates to prioritization of animal health, integrated small scale farming and water in Vietnam, and food safety governance in China. His past employment has been with FAO-UN, World Bank, and the International Livestock Research Institute in Kenya.
